SLOW DOWN, MOVE OVER

The Traffic Safety Amendment Act extends safe passing protections for roadside workers to include snowplows and highway maintenance vehicles, in addition to tow trucks and emergency vehicles, like police, fire, and ambulance.

This means that when any of these vehicles have their lights flashing and are stopped, drivers in the lanes of traffic immediately beside the stopped vehicle must slow to 60km/hr or the posted speed limit. This applies to both ways of traffic.
